Becoming financially literate is an important part of making informed and smart financial decisions as an adult.
In this class, Sam will briefly introduce the different ways that you can save, the importance of having an emergency fund, and will talk about how you can earn free money via compounding. She will cover the difference between essential and discretionary spending and outline the SMART way to stick to a budget. Finally, Sam will discuss the different types of debt, what to look out for to make sure your debt doesn’t become unmanageable, and learn about how, for most people, student loans aren’t really debt - they’re an additional tax.
This is a really useful class for students to get a good basic insight into how to manage their money which will be useful in the next stages of their education.
