In 1968 the people of Czechoslovakia decided they did not want to be ruled by the Soviet Union so demanded reform and an easing of Soviet control.
In this class, students will look at why the Czech people did not want Soviet rule, their demands and the response from the Soviet government. This event is usually compared to the Hungarian Uprising in GCSE exams so this class will help students gain knowledge and confidence across a number of topics.
Whether this is a subject a student has covered yet or not the background knowledge will be useful in all History learning and allow students to show off their expansive understanding of different areas of History to make them stand out in teacher assessments or exams.
