In this class, we will be looking at the bar modelling method to calculate percentages of an amount.
Students will firstly be shown how to figure out a range of different amounts without using a calculator, including 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 50%. They will then use these key calculations to work out more complex calculations such as 67% of an amount.
This short burst class will give students the confidence to tackle any percentage calculation without the use of a calculator setting them up for Non-Calculator assessments but also improving their math skills for use in day to day life.
