Key takeaways
Understand why the equation of a line is given by the equation y=mx+c.
Plot straight line graphs from a table of values.
Find the equation of the line through two given points, or through one point with a given gradient.
Shahriyar HajghassemHost: Shahriyar is a Maths Teacher at a School in Northwest London, teaching years 7 to 11. He graduated from the University of Warwick in 2013 and set off to China for two years teaching IGCSE and A-Level Economics.

Straight line graphs can be used in real life situations such as cost per ticket, calculating medicine at the pharmacy, and preparing for budgets. In this class, students will be introduced the equation of a line (y=mx + c) and will gain a better understanding of what is meant by the gradient (m) and y-intercept (c). Students also learn how to plot graphs using a table of values before moving onto doing more complex straight line graphs. This class is a great tool for revision for all students.
