Host: Danielle Hearne is a Senior Learning Officer at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo. Having previously taught in primary schools and a subject specialist in primary science, she is passionate about inspiring and empowering pupils in taking action to protect wildlife. Learn about another career with ZSL! Danielle will discuss what it’s like to be a zoo based-educator, the variety of audiences this can cover and how she came to be in this role. She explains the skills and knowledge required and recalls some of the most interesting and unusual aspects of her job.
She will explain different pathways into this career and the alternative routes she has taken – demonstrating the benefits of life-long learning and that career choices can evolve and don’t have to be final!
