Host: Dr Carrie Ruxton trained as a dietitian before doing a PhD in nutrition. She’s worked in a hospital, taught at university but now is 100% freelance working with lots of different food companies. Carrie’s job is very varied and includes providing information to journalists about diet and food, helping companies to develop new products and put the correct information on their labels, and training food company staff in basic nutrition.Join this class to learn about a career path within nutrition! Carrie will describe how she went from dietitian to freelance consultant. She will also talk about the skills she needs to do her job and the kinds of projects she gets involved in. Pointers about how freelance work differs from being employed will also be mentioned. This class is great for all ages but especially for those interested in a career in nutrition.
