Host: Sophie joined Lothian and Borders Police as a Special Constable in 2009 and Police Scotland full-time in 2013.
In a previous life, Sophie was a Parliamentary Reporter with a portfolio in Justice. Since then she has held roles within Community and Response policing, Policing 2026, Corporate Communications, Strategy, Insight and Innovation and most recently Operation Talla in relation to the policing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.Life as a Police Officer - More Line of Duty or Hot Fuzz?
In this class we will hear about Sophie's career journey in the Scottish Police. She will cover the huge range of different jobs within the Police in Scotland.
Students will consider the different skills she uses every day and hear some of the exciting and challenging aspects of some of the roles she has worked in over the years.
This class was originally live and students asked Sophie question at the end of the class, this is a replay of the original class but the questions and answers have been left in as students may find them useful!
