Host: Nathan has been Deputy Director of Music and Examinations Secretary at Edgbaston High School for Girls since 2017. Previously, Nathan was Head of Music, Hardwicke Theatre Manager and Activities Week Coordinator at Thorns Community College. He gained a Masters of Arts in Education at Birmingham City University in 2015 where he graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Music Technology (BSc) in 2009. Nathan has been Director of Digital Media for European Youth Music since Young Orchestras was founded in 2011.When studying music it is important to consider both the theory and practical elements. In this class, students can join in the musical fun and learn about Programme Music. They will cover programme music and how to develop music using the musical elements; considering basic notes on the keyboard as well as how to use this knowledge in composing their own music. This is a fantastic class for those already studying music but also for those who are interested in exploring music as an outside interest.

Class requirements:
You will need a laptop or device with internet connection to watch the class, as well as a pen and notepad for taking notes.
You will also need a keyboard, or you can download a keyboard app or your iPad/iPhone or other device.
What to expect:
- This class will take place online via a Zoom webinar.
- For live classes, please arrive promptly. Students' cameras and microphones are disabled by default.
- For on demand classes, students will be watching a recording of a previous live class.
- Once you have signed up, you will be taken to your dashboard where you can view details of the class, and re-watch it in the future.
- Students will be sent confirmation of the class to their email address if provided.
