There are many different purposes that can be used in writing...to excite, to thrill, to unsettle, to persuade, to argue, to explore serious issues, and many more! This class will focus on knowing the purpose of a text so that students feel confident to read unfamiliar texts more critically. Students will gain a better understanding of different purposes and how to read for meaning. This class is great for students in Years 7 - 9 but would be a great refresher class for older students as well!
