Andrew JacksonHost: Andrew is a full time farmer alongside his daughter Anna and farm employee Carl. They work together with a flock of 60 sheep, 1000 acres and every year they plant a variety of crops. No two days are ever the same. Andrew, studied Agriculture at college and his daughter, Anna got a degree in photography but has recently changed her career to farming. Andrew took a pretty conventional route into farming however Anna is discovering a love for a new profession at 28 years of age. Over the last 6 years to farm has started its journey to regenerative farming, something capable of saving the planet but presents its own challenges.

57% of the land in the UK is used for agriculture! Do you know what goes into being a farmer and how they can help save the planet? In this session, Andrew and Anna will walk students through the roles of each season as well as how they got where they are and more importantly why they love their jobs. There are certainly highs and lows in farming which they will cover from 14 hour days through harvest and sowing but then quieter days in the winter months.

This class is great for students who are interested in going into farming or want to learn more about agriculture!
