Gabriella ManningHost: Gabriella Manning is a Senior Engineering Geologist with ten years experience. She studied Geology at A level which sparked her interest in the subject and led her into doing a Geology BSc and MSc. There are several branches of geology such as including geo-hazards, mining, petroleum, geophysics, hydrogeology, geo-environmental and geotechnical. She chose a geo-environmental/geotechnical career.

Geology is the study of the Earth and what it is made of. In this class, students will briefly look at why geology is important to society, what careers are available to geologists and the varied work that is involved as an Engineering Geologist in the UK. Students will also learn skills utilised every day in the job. This class is aimed at all students but is especially useful for students interested in geology, construction, and/or consultancy!
